Entering the Library

Insert the magnetic strip of the Borrowers Card into the slot and run it through to open the gate. You are a temporary user, please write down your name and your address on the register book, and ask to the staff to open the gate.

Please keep your valuables with you. Food, drinks, and smoking are strictly prohibited in any part of the library to avoid damage to library stock and equipment, and disturbance to other users.

Reading

Open-shelf materials and Stack room materials are freely available to any user. After replacing any materials, please make sure to return them back properly where they were.

Photocopying

One self-service copy machine is located on the 1st floor. Fill in and submit a form of application for photocopy. To avoid copyright infringement, they are available only for library materials.

Borrowing

To borrow library materials, you will need to present your Borrowers Card at the circulation desk. You may not take away any library item out of the library without completing the appropriate loan procedures.

Please Note:
  • Materials labeled 館内 (non-circulation) and Magazines are not available for loan.
  • Care must be taken of books and all library materials. No user may mark, mutilate or annotate books, and any marking or damage found must be reported to the librarian.

  • long loans are applied during spring, summer and winter vacations. the period of loan varies according to the length of the holiday.

Renewal

Books may be renewed for an additional two-week interval, unless: another user has reserved them. they are overdue.

Reservations

You may reserve an item, which is on loan. You will be notified when the books are available to be picked up. They will be held at the circulation desk for 8 days after notified.

Returning

All library materials are to be returned to the circulation desk where they were checked out. When the library is closed, drop them in the return box located outside front entrance.

Please Note:
  • If you have overdue books, your borrowing privileges will be suspended for total number of delinquent days.
  • Any user who fails to return a book may be required to pay the cost of replacing it.

Request a Purchase

Anyone qualified to use the library may make a request for the purchase of a book. Please submit one form of application for each item you request.
